A skilled physician and surgeon, R. Mark Turner keeps competence and compassion alive and well in the practice of medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board-certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Turner believes in the total care of the patient. He treats women with gynecologic cancer and benign conditions such as fibroids, uterine and vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence. An accomplished surgeon, he has performed thousands of procedures, utilizing open, laparoscopic and robotic surgical approaches.

R. Mark Turner began his collegiate studies at Brigham Young University on an athletic scholarship playing football. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he was called to serve a two-year mission in Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay. Following his honorable release from service, Turner continued his studies at the University of Arizona receiving a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mathematics and—subsequently—his MD. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1991 at the University of Nevada Affiliated Residency Program. Turner completed his formal education with two additional years of sub-specialty training in advanced pelvic surgery with emphasis on minimally invasive procedures, gynecologic oncology surgery, female urologic and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Turner has been active in the community in Southern Nevada, having taught advanced surgical courses and serving as a lecturer for paramedics in training. Teaching the next generation of physicians, Dr. Turner served in the resident training program as Educational Coordinator, head of the Division of Gynecologic Endoscopy and head of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery in the Nevada Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Training Program. Currently, he works with medical students and physicians in training from Touro Medical School.

Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, Dr. Turner has made his home in Las Vegas for 23 years. He is married to Ginger Turner, and they have three children.
